El dueño de la casaca número 1 ya no forma parte del grupo de Iowa. Mediante un comunicado publicado en su web oficial, Slipknot anunció "con dolor y respeto" que el baterista Joey Jordison y sus compañeros enmascarados han decidico "separar caminos".
"A nuestros Maggots y fans de todo el mundo,
Es con gran dolor pero con reposado respeto que, por razones personales, Joey Jordison y Slipknot, separan sus caminos. Le deseamos todos a Joey lo mejor en lo que le depare el futuro.Entendemos que muchos de vosotros queréis saber el como y porqué ha pasado esto y nos esforzaremos en contestar a estas preguntas en un futuro cercano. Es nuestro amor por todos vosotros, así como por la música que creamos, que nos incentiva a seguir y continuar adelante con nuestros planes de publicar nuevo material el próximo año. Esperamos que todos lleguéis a entender esto, y apreciamos vuestro continuo apoyo mientras planeamos la próxima fase del futuro de Slipknot.

Jordison fue uno de los miembros que más apostó por nuevo material del grupo tras el fallecimiento del bajista Paul Gray por lo que, sin duda, esta marcha es toda una sorpresa.
El batería había dedicado sus esfuerzos estos últimos tiempos a su nuevo proyecto, Scar The Martyr.

the best in whatever his future holds. We understand that many of you
will want to know how and why this has come to be, and we will do our

continue on and move forward with our plans for releasing new material
